Encouraging Successful Public Schools in Los Angeles

More than 50 public schools in the Los Angles area have reportedly exceeded the API designation of 900 — an indicator of high student achievement. Most of these schools do so year after year. There are many thoughts and opinions as to why the students at these particular public schools consistently succeed; great teachers, smart administrators, caring community, involved parents . . .  And while there may not be a set “formula” that creates a successful student, it is clear that these school communities are doing something right.  It is our hope that this website will be a vibrant forum for the parents of these successful students to share their insight and information — the experiences, ideas, strategies, and contacts that have worked well for them.
